forms of activity that are mentioned, whereas the interpretation we follow has quite a bit to say about their meaning and their applicability. There is still another consideration, perhaps the clearest of all, that shows that this approach is right, for v. 11, spoken in obvious reference to vv. 1–8, says that God “does everything beautifully at its proper time.” That thought would be out of place if the whole passage were to say: “Man should see to it that he does everything at its proper time.”
